I've never heard anyone make a Tau/dwarf reference around these parts anyway. I'd guess thats someone trying to fit a round peg into a square hole with the 40K/Fantasy analogies there. I believe tau are GW's attempt to bring in ppl more interested in Anime into the fold, there's much more of a parallel there with all the powered armor and missiles pods, IMO.

I can see the aesthetic of the Imperial Guard sorta clashing with space Dwarves.... I find it odd that people generally call Tau "space Dwarves". There really isn't anything Dwarfy about them. You can see parallels with a lot of the races; like Necron = Tomb Kings/Counts, Orks = Orcs, Eldar/Dark Eldar = High Elves/ Dark Elves. I'm failing to see a Tau-Dwarf connection.

There used to be a dwarf race in 40K called the Stouts. They were left out of the newer editions though. I think there reasoning was mainly that it was pretty much the same as Imperial Guard for the most part.

I know.... Doesn,'t it seem odd, though; that Games Workshop would fail to take advantage of making a space Dwarf race in Warhammer 40,000? I mean... Dwarves with cigars, machine guns, and space marine armor is like... Freakin' heaven!
